The HD Moon

by Assad on 28/08/2009

Recently the Japanese Lunar surveillance satellite called Kaguya sent back new stunning HD video’s of the Moon while it was orbiting at a very low altitude. This spacecraft started taking footage from a height of 62 miles and then gradually decreasing it’s height. Ultimatly this space craft will crash land on the lunar surface bringing the project to an end.

The first footage was taken at a height of seven miles above the surface. And second footage was taken at 13 miles above the surface.

The SELenological and ENgineering Explorer "KAGUYA"(SELENE), Japan’s 1st large Lunar Explorer, was launched by the H-IIA rocket on September 14, 2007 (JST). The mission, which is the largest Lunar Mission since the Apollo Program, is being keenly anticipated by many countries.
