Ares-1 Rocket Motor Test

ares1ares5b NASA successfully tested the new rocket motor engine for the upcoming Ares project. This motor will be fitted in Ares-1 and Ares V which will power the vehicle in the first stage. The experiment took place for 2 minutes and in this period of the time the engine delivered 22 million horsepower, and this first stage motor will generate up to 3.6 million pounds of thrust, or lifting power, at launch.

Ares-1 will in future will replace the shuttle program and will be fitted with a Orion capsule which will transport the astronauts to the ISS. Similarly Ares V will be heavy duty rocket and also will take humans to moon again.
