by Assad on 07/10/2011

These meteors are part of the comet Giacobini-Zinner which travels around the Sun in a 6.6 year orbit and when Earth passes through the tail of this comet this results in the great Draconid meteor shower. Seeing the history of this shower, in 1933 the peek rate was more than 6000 per hours as seen by the European countries and this is not all, in Malta the rate was approximately 450 per minute !

The peek time would be at daylight time in North America so it makes Asia best to view the meteor showers before midnight. Pakistan and India would be observing this great event and therefore can bring public attraction.
