091027-ares1x-launch-02 Finally Ares I-X took it’s first successful flight. All systems performed correctly. Initially due to weather, the launch was delayed. The first stage separated successfully from the upper stage. All people at the Kennedy Space Station celebrated the successful launch.

091026-ares1x-atlantisA-02 As the launch time is approaching, NASA is one step ahead of achieving it’s ultimate goal of launching the next generation space craft which will take man to outer space. Replacing the highly expensive Space Shuttle, the Ares 1 rocket will provide much cheaper transportation of man to space. Right now America is under the attack of inflation and this is a big problem for NASA and it’s Space Shuttle program. Each Space Shuttle program takes about  approx 2 billion dollars and that is too much where as the launch price of Ares 1 will be much less than the Space Shuttle, around 100 million dollars. Like the previous Moon mission, each launch was too expensive if seen in today’s world and therefore Ares project will cut short these expenses for sure.

ares1ares5b NASA successfully tested the new rocket motor engine for the upcoming Ares project. This motor will be fitted in Ares-1 and Ares V which will power the vehicle in the first stage. The experiment took place for 2 minutes and in this period of the time the engine delivered 22 million horsepower, and this first stage motor will generate up to 3.6 million pounds of thrust, or lifting power, at launch.
